Four compressor-powered fridges, in capacity from 50 to 110 litres, are now available for use in yachts, boats and caravans – fridges that truly are a class of their own.

Travel First Class!

First class design (brushed stainless steel looks and cool, ice-blue interior) meets first class technology: all four refrigerators in the CoolMatic CR family are tropical-rated equivalent to ISO 7371 standards. That means they ensure reliable three-star deep-freezing up to -18ºC even at outside temperatures of 43ºC. Working on either 12 or 24 volts, they use as little power as a low-wattage light bulb, between 40 and 45 watts.

Powerful yet economical

The Danfoss BD35F compressor keeps ice-cubes frozen in the separate, insulated freezer compartment. And there are more sophisticated technical details where the CR series excels: the additional foamed evaporator, for example, adds to the refrigerators’ cooling and freezing capacity and ensures an ideal temperature distribution inside.

Moreover, the refrigeration zone defrosts automatically, the condensation water is drained through a separate hose connection or into a collection tank. A double door lock with magnetic seal protects the fridge’s contents, the door mounts are variable for left or right opening. Functional trays, compartments and bottle holders as well as the recessed door grip facilitate everyday onboard use.

Good news for everyone who likes to get off the beaten track: the new WAECO CoolMatic CR refrigerators work perfectly even at 30º tilt. Naturally, the CR series fridges have the TÜV seal for approved safety (GS) and are e-approved. Optional extras include a standard and a flush-mount installation frame available for each model.

WAECO’s CoolMatic CR series of built-in refrigerators was granted the renowned DAME Design Award 2006 in the “Interior equipment, furnishings, materials and electrical fittings used in cabins” category. The award is regarded as the most prestigious worldwide design prize of its kind. The multi-national jury particularly commended the excellent design of the innovative, tropical-rated high-end refrigerators – the well-balanced blend of styling, functionality and construction. Beyond pleasing aesthetics, the new CR compressor refrigerators offer “several clever design touches, including a lock to allow the cabinet to ventilate when not in use and a very positive latching mechanism“, reads the comment of the seven-strong DAME Awards Jury. This year the annual Design Award METS competition attracted 136 companies from all over the world representing a total of 166 product innovations. When making assessments under the DAME rules, the jurors not only consider the design, the originality and the use of the products, but also look for a superb price to performance ratio.
